If the first couple weeks are any indicator, winter 2019 will be quite different from the past several winters, which have been marked by extremely low inventory. Just two weeks into January inventory has already bounced back into the mid-40's. To put things into perspective, there were only 16 single-family homes for sale this time last year. This isn't entirely a surprise, as we expected much of the inventory that was pulled off the market in December to come back on in January, but the elevated inventory is likely to keep prices under control in the early part of the year.
